Accountant Company: Global retailer with a 100-year-old reputation, currently scaling the Australian market Hybrid working model: 3 days in the office in Southbank, 2 days at home Salary: Up to 100,000 + super + 10% bonus potential + $75 per month wellbeing allowance This is your opportunity to make a genuine impact on the Australian expansion of a century-old global retail brand, gaining valuable exposure across various accounting functions in a business with three exciting channels: retail stores, wholesale, and e-commerce.
The Role: If you are someone who wants to be silo'd into a small part of accounting, this isn't the role for you.
You'll work under the guidance of the Financial Controller who has extensive retail experience - he'll be a great support.
But you'll take ownership of month end close, reconciliations, fixed asset management, cash flow forecasting, and sales reporting - all the technical financial accounting activities - and you'll be reporting up to an international office.
Ever wonder where marketing spends their money? Here, you'll get a deep understanding of business operations, business partnering with other departments, and supporting them with financial analysis.
And, with an ambitious 5-year plan, you'll get exposure to the real commercial & strategic stuff - like financial modelling for new product margins or putting the CAPEX together for new stores.
The finance processes are pretty good but if you like making things better and taking a process from 'good' to 'great', you will be able to make a difference in this role, in a company that truly welcomes change.
About You: CPA or CA qualified (or very close to completing) Experience working in a financial accounting role, with the ability to take responsibility over month end close.
Experience in a retail or FMCG environment will be highly regarded.
