We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
About The Role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drugs Practitioner to provide counselling, liaison, support, case management and a range of interventions to assist in improving the health & well-being for individuals, family members and significant others experiencing alcohol and other drug related harms.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Mildura, Victoria.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will successfully Deliver evidence based interventions in line with client centred treatment that aligns with AOD training and qualifications according to complexity of the client and family needs within a recovery framework.
Provide case management support to clients.
Assist clients to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed assist them through advocacy with service providers.
Build strong and effective relationships with clients and their families, to assist the client through treatment using family inclusive interventions.
Deliver Alcohol & Drug services across the Mallee Wide Catchment.
Respond to referrals in a flexible and timely manner.
Identify risks to clients, staff and The Salvation Army and bring them to the attention of the Team Leader as soon as possible.
You will have A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline.
A current Victoria Driver licence.
A Victorian Employee Working with Children check.
Minimum qualification Diploma in Community Services.
Relevant experience in a social service environment.
AOD Skill set or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of commencing employment.
