About the Role As an Android Software Engineer at MEQ, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications that offer exceptional user experiences.
You'll play a vital role in our technology stack, focusing on camera integration, real-time data analysis, and modern architecture patterns.
Working closely with cross-functional teams across product, design, and business development, you will contribute directly to our mission of building a data-driven future for the red meat industry.
This is a remote role, with MEQ Head Office in Melbourne.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the role include: Develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and the Android SDK.
Implement solutions using Coroutines, Data Binding, and MVVM architecture for efficient and maintainable code.
Work with Android Camera API to deliver high-performance camera functionalities.
Integrate with RESTful APIs using Ok Http and manage local storage with Room database.
Partner with product managers, designers, and backend developers to align technical solutions with business goals.
Translate business requirements into technical deliverables and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Support field technicians with troubleshooting and technical inquiries.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
Collaborate with the Dev Ops team to monitor app performance and manage cloud services.
Stay updated on the latest trends in Android development and recommend improvements.
Provide technical support on a rotating basis and participate in out-of-hours deployments when needed.
Identify areas for process and technical optimization to enhance application performance and reliability.
What We're Looking For Proven experience in Android development with proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.
Strong understanding of Coroutines, Data Binding, Room database, and Ok Http.
Experience working with Android Camera API and MVVM architecture.
Familiarity with Hilt for dependency injection and Agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills: Experience with Machine Learning and Python.
Familiarity with SQL, Dev Ops practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Crashlytics and app distribution through the Google Play Store.
