Assistant Director Risk Assurance & Analytics The People, Strategy, and Safety Branch is focused on developing and growing the department's workforce. We ensure the right people, with the right skills, are in the right roles to meet our department's goals. Our team works closely with business areas to provide guidance in key areas such as health and safety, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development. Within the branch there are two dedicated Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) sections. The WHS Enterprise team leads our overall safety strategy and ensures we have a strong safety management system in place. The WHS National Operations team, where this role sits, works directly with our staff and stakeholders to implement this system and provide ongoing support on safety matters. This is where you play an important role. As an Assistant Director within the WHS Enterprise team, you will lead nationally significant projects that will assist with the development of key WHS risk assurance elements within our safety management system. You will have the opportunity to identify and drive work programs that are led with an evidence-based approach. The Job As the WHS Assistant Director Risk Assurance and Analytics, you will: Lead a small team to build capability and provide high-quality, evidence-based advice on complex WHS issues. Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, tailoring messages as needed, while building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. Design and implement the WHS Risk Assurance Management Plan and Critical Risks Project, ensuring continuous monitoring and validation of workplace safety controls. Manage WHS software (Evotix), overseeing hazard and incident reporting, risk management, and audit processes. Analyse WHS trends to inform proactive safety campaigns and future priorities. Develop and monitor risk assurance initiatives, including WHS risk registers, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions from audits. Support WHS strategy by aligning risk assurance efforts with departmental goals and providing regular updates on progress. What are we looking for Knowledge and Experience Contemporary and comprehensive understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian and International Standards, with their application across diverse workplaces. Proven experience in hazard and risk management at both the enterprise and operational levels. Experience in developing and implementing WHS risk assurance programs, delivering pragmatic and tailored solutions. Minimum of five years' experience in a WHS leadership or management role. Tertiary qualifications in health, risk management, or work health and safety would be highly regarded. #J-18808-Ljbffr
