This role focuses on scrub scout duties, specifically in vitrectomy and cataract surgery.
As an integral part of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Provide strong leadership and support to the nursing team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Promoting Safe Practices and Standards: Implement and uphold best practices in surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives within the unit, ensuring smooth transitions and continuous improvement.
Innovation: Drive innovation in surgical practices and patient care, staying abreast of the latest advancements in vitrectomy and cataract surgery.
Oversight of Stock and Specialty Equipment: Manage and oversee the ordering and inventory of surgical supplies and specialty equipment, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely restocking.
Qualifications: Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
Extensive experience in scrub scout roles, particularly in vitrectomy and cataract surgery.
Proven leadership and management skills.
Strong understanding of surgical procedures and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage change and drive innovation.
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory Police Record Check, a working with children check (if applicable), and evidence of vaccination status.
All staff must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (3 doses) and for clinical staff, patient-facing staff, and staff working in clinical areas, it is a mandatory requirement to provide evidence of a current influenza vaccination.
