This is a rare opportunity to join a highly successful Melbourne based law firm which is recognised for the depth and quality of its specialist expertise, its exceptional client service and a relentless focus on its values. The firm employs approximately eighty staff whilst continuing to support a high-performance workplace culture and, following a period of transformational growth, now seeks to appoint a commercially astute senior finance professional to its Leadership Team. Reporting to the Board and working collegially with stakeholders throughout the business, you will manage and lead a dedicated internal Corporate Services team to effectively support and enhance the day to day operations, financial administration and the longer term strategic goals of the firm. You will have oversight of all financial operations including financial reporting, monthly management & Board reporting and all statutory reporting and regulatory compliance. You will be expected to become a trusted advisor for the Leadership Team, providing insightful financial decision support for a broad range of business-critical issues across operational business performance, Practice Management, business analysis and strategic planning. As a senior finance professional, you will also be a focal subject matter expert for stakeholders throughout the wider business, using your financial subject matter expertise to add value to operational decisions and using your leadership and influencing skills to lead the implementation and ongoing optimisation of business management systems and processes. This is a genuine opportunity for a highly motivated senior finance professional to support the long term success of an established mid-sized professional services enterprise. This hands-on role will probably appeal to a qualified CA/CPA, preferably with previous experience in the professional services sector, who is looking for a highly accountable and broadly scoped leadership role which offers the opportunity to directly support a forward-looking Leadership Team. The success of the business can also be attributed to its core values, and as such, you should be a down to earth and natural leader with a passion for excellence and the kind of drive which fosters a collegial, fun, accountable and high-performance workplace culture. You are likely to be a highly effective communicator and a values-driven leader with a passion for developing and mentoring high performing teams, be adept at identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities and possess a pragmatic and thoughtful approach to improving business performance.
