We are seeking a talented and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of publishing the best books in the world at our Distribution Centre in Scoresby VIC.
The main focus is to oversee our financial operations and ensure the financial health of our organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
This role will involve close collaboration with various departments to support strategic decision-making and drive financial performance.
Key Responsibilities: Complete and coordinate the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and present the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement and balance sheet.
Conduct General Ledger (G/L) reconciliation reviews and ensure the integrity of the balance sheet.
Prepare budgets and forecasts, focusing on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and indirect overheads.
Coordinate the taxation compliance program for Penguin Random House.
Oversee the completion of Management Reporting through Magnitude, including the monthly MAM Pack, quarterly C Pack, CI Pack, and the annual Budget Pack.
Ensure timely completion of statutory reporting obligations for Penguin Random House Australia.
Ensure adherence to accounting policies and compliance with accounting standards.
Provide support for external and internal audits.
Offer decision support and financial advice to various departments.
Manage treasury functions, optimizing the company's financial resources.
Uphold governance and internal control standards.
Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Mentor, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting/finance.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Effective delegation and organizational skills.
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
CPA or CA qualified.
Strong technical accounting and taxation experience.
Experience working on change projects involving core accounting functions, including strong experience in process change and continuous improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Complex problem-solving skills.
High level of experience and understanding of Finance ERP systems and G/L module integration.
Intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
