About the role
As a Branch Manager Procurement, you report to the Chief Corporate and Commercial Officer in the Enabling Services/Chief Operating Officer Group.
The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services for the Agency through a centralised procurement model. We build, maintain and support NDIA Procurement and Grants Policy to ensure value for money outcomes.
You will lead a team of approximately 70 people including procurement and probity advisors, grant advisors, as well as compliance and reporting specialists to support approximately 1000 contracts per year, with a combined committed value of several billions of dollars.
The Branch Manager Procurement is a functional leadership position within the NDIA and has defined independence to make decisions within their areas of accountability. It will lead and contribute to the strategic planning, develop long-term plans and implement operational strategies to support a high performing NDIA.
About you
The National Disability Insurance Agency is seeking an exceptional leader to join our team at the SES Band 1 level.
To be a contender for this role you will have extensive experience in procurement, including contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
You will be a problem solver who can work pragmatically and collaboratively with business area leads in a dynamic environment to identify, develop and evaluate solutions to complex issues.
You will ensure that agency procurement activities are conducted efficiently and comply with relevant policies and legislation.
You will take responsibility for managing and developing staff within your branch and lead it to uplift procurement capability across the agency.

What you should know
Applicants with financial, legal or commerce qualifications, or substantial government procurement experience are preferred. The position requires the ability to interpret, apply and develop government procurement and grants policy.
To be eligible for employment with the NDIA, you must be an Australian citizen. A candidate's suitability for employment with the Agency will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include a criminal history check and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance, at the Negative Vetting 1 level. This will be arranged for you, if successful.
The NDIA will provide reasonable adjustments for candidates to participate equitably in the recruitment process and discuss workplace adjustments to fulfil the inherent requirements of the role.
