The Credit Assessment team is part of Westpac's Group operations division and is responsible for providing support to the consumer mortgage sales process for applications received from third parties (Brokers).
You will play a key role in assessing Broker applications and determining how best to proceed.
About the role: Case Management: Maximise the number of applications approved by analysing each application and providing structured advice for applications.
Documentation Review: Conduct full documentation reviews to assess the financial position of applicants.
Process Adherence: Adhere to audit and compliance requirements to prevent banks' exposure to unacceptable risk.
Customer Support: Provide great customer service to our brokers and customers, while communicating outcomes/recommendations to brokers.
Communication: Provide clear communication and updates to brokers throughout the process, ensuring transparency and a positive broker experience.

What do I need? Experience within banking or financial services (Banking, Insurance, Super etc).
Prior experience in a detail-oriented role.
Experience validating or processing documentation (e.g., Loan Processing, Legal, Insurance Claims, financial services operations etc).
Strong analytical mindset.
Critical thinking and the ability to interpret information and make decisions.
Comfortable working independently and managing your own case load.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer literacy with the ability to work with multiple systems with ease.
