It is a restaurant that serves and sells authentic handmade Indian desserts as well as savory Indian delicacies.
Position We are seeking highly professional, motivated and enthusiastic individual with relevant qualification to come and join our team as the Full-time Cook/Chef.
Skills and Experience Prepare dishes as per menu and customer needs Unpacking, inspecting and dating deliveries of vegetable fruit, meat and other ingredients before placing in-store refrigerator or freezer.
Arranging food to comply with first in first out standards and checking stored foods for freshness Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
Sharpen choppers, knives, slicer and grating machines Preparing and organizing grills and buffets to make sure in working order.
Check all cooking utensils and equipment are clean and ready for a full shift.
Prepare sauces for vegetables and meat marinades prior to restaurant opening by grinding and blending vegetables and spices.
Qualification Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent in a related field is required, including two years on the job experience OR Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent related field.
Previous experience working as a commercial cook Remuneration Successful candidate will be paid the salary of $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.
