Detalles de la oferta

We are excited to be commencing the search for a passionate and motivated Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our progressive organisation.
The CEO, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and with the support of the Executive Management Team, is responsible for the control, direction, co-ordination and management of all operations of Southern Stay Disability Services Inc, ensuring the effective implementation of its strategic plans and the effective utilisation of resources in order to provide the most efficient services to our clients and the community.
This involves:
Overseeing our strategic goals through advocacy and positive impacts within the community.
Effective and transparent leadership.
Good governance through proactive financial management and sustainability.
Strong advocacy in fostering the vision and culture of our organisation.
Forging authentic relationships and connections with community-based and government organisations and other key stakeholders.
Commitment to a positive workplace culture through the support and management of our people and resources.
About You
We are fortunate that the previous incumbent to this role has left us in a very positive position, so our incoming CEO will have the benefit of joining a team that already boasts a dedicated workforce, first rate reputation and strong financial position.
That said, it won't always be easy. The disability sector has many challenges, but ideally, your experience or understanding of the not-for-profit sector will enable you to build a strong network of allies in the sector, as well as within government agencies, other like organisations and the community in general.
Experience in change management or leading teams through organisational transformation is essential to this role, and your financial and commercial acumen and comprehensive understanding of corporate governance will ensure that you hit the ground running.
We look forward to working with someone who has exceptional communication skills, who expresses themselves clearly and succinctly, with the knowledge and confidence required to be a spokesperson and effective advocate for Southern Stay.
Ideally, you will be a natural leader of people, bringing your team along for the ride, lifting them up through set-backs or challenging times, and becoming a role model for those within your orbit.
Key Responsibilities
Controlling, Regulating and Reporting
Monitoring and evaluating the financial performance of Southern Stay, including reporting to the Board of Directors, and keeping abreast of changes and developments in the disability sector.
External and Internal Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain effective communication with all internal staff as well as various stakeholders including government departments, NDIA, relevant associations and others, ensuring a coordinated and integrated approach to the operation of Southern Stay.
Policy and Planning
Develop and implement policies, programs and procedures across the organisation, and plan, co-ordinate and direct all major projects, ensuring adequate internal controls are maintained.
Organising and Operating
Regular review of all organisational and operational plans and projects, ensuring that the principles of the Intellectual Disabled Act 1986, Disability Services Act 1991 and other relevant Acts are maintained at all times and all legislative and reporting requirements are met.
Personnel and Organisation
Oversee all aspects of human resource management, including employee relations, staff training and development, remuneration, recruitment, appraisals and Workplace Health and Safety, and ensuring compliance with industrial legislation, regulations and workplace agreements.
Key Selection Criteria
A demonstrated commitment to the core values and desired culture of the organisation.
Ethical integrity demonstrated through good governance, decision making, navigating conflicts of interest and maintaining transparency.
Experience in change management or leading teams through organisational transformation.
A demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve the organisation's strategic objectives.
Experience in leadership with a focus on building relationships, mentoring and developing others.
A commitment to a philosophy of learning and continuous improvement.
A demonstrated ability to drive successful outcomes by setting a clear strategic direction and delivering on the organisation's strategic plan.
Experience in engaging and developing a rapport with a wide range of stakeholders (including team members, Board of Directors, Government organisations, participants, carers/families and community).
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including advanced negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in successfully developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships at all organisational levels and with a wide range of external stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen and a proven record of the effective financial management of an organisational or departmental budget.
A strong grasp of systems requirements, risk management and information management associated with large organisations.
Highly Desirable Criteria
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the NDIS framework and disability services industry.
A thorough understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation pertaining to the disability services industry.
A thorough understanding of the current risks, challenges and market drivers facing the disability services industry.
A demonstrated ability to work proactively with a Board of Directors.
