The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) provides leadership, vision, direction and support to a Procurement function consisting of Contract/Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Governance/Reporting teams.
As the accountable officer, the CPO is responsible for the Cenitex procurement governance framework and ensuring compliance with the supply policies of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB).
The CPO is also responsible for leading the delivery of an effective, efficient and value-add procurement function that aligns with organisational strategic priorities.
The salary range for the position is $182,813.00 - $204,749.00 plus superannuation.

As the accountable officer, the CPO is responsible for the Cenitex procurement governance framework and ensuring compliance with the supply policies of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGBP).
The CPO is also responsible for leading the delivery of an effective, efficient and value-add procurement function that aligns with organisational strategic priorities.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for ensuring that Cenitex and its procurement governance framework comply with VGPB supply policies.
Ownership of procurement policies, processes, and assurance controls to ensure a consistent and standardised approach for all procurement activities.
Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions.
Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders to provide strategic insights on business needs, resolve complex issues and deliver high performance on cost, service, and quality outcomes.
Provide leadership, direction and effective management of the procurement team and cross-functional working groups.
Oversee the management of identified critical commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on organisational objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation.
Prepare annual VGPB and all relevant statutory reports in addition to Board Reports in relation to procurement functions.
Ensure the procurement function meets all relevant legislative and governance requirements, including those contained in the Financial Management Act 1994, the Financial Management Compliance Framework, Standing Directions of the Minister for Finance 2018 Under the Financial Management Act 1994 and VGPB policies.
Attendance of various committees and governance forums is expected, including Cenitex Board, Audit, Risk and ESG Committees and Whole of Victorian Government (Wo VG) CPO forum.

Let's talk about you! Ten plus (10+) years of professional industry experience required with postgraduate tertiary qualifications highly desirable.
Membership in a professional accredited organisation in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is highly desirable.
