We are a tertiary provider of expert care in progressive neurology across the state of Victoria.
Our team works within a neuropalliative rehabilitation framework and aims to provide best practice assessment and holistic care for patients with progressive neurological diseases (e.g.
Motor Neurone Disease and Huntington's disease) and their families, across the disease trajectory.
The psychology department comprises a close and supportive team of Clinical Psychologists and Neuropsychologists that work within a large multidisciplinary team.
We are also significant contributors to research, with clinical research initiatives and collaborations highly valued by the organisation.

About the role This is a rare opportunity to extend your clinical skills in working with complex neuropsychiatric populations (e.g., Huntington's disease) in a highly supportive and collaborative environment.
The role involves assessment and treatment of patients with progressive neurological diseases within inpatient and outpatient contexts.
In addition to your individual work with patients, you also have the opportunity to bring your clinical psychology formulation and treatment approaches to guide and support the multidisciplinary team.
This involves working closely with our neuropsychology colleagues.
Our service is celebrated for its innovative and creative ways of delivering care to patients.
There are multiple opportunities for our psychologists to collaborate, innovate and participate in the development and delivery of an array of group programs and interventions.
In addition, there is opportunity to participate in research as part of an internationally recognised progressive neurological disease research team.
Our team have a well-established collaboration with Monash University and a strong track-record in publishing clinical research.
Our small and personal inpatient ward also provides end of life care to palliative patients with complex presentations, providing further opportunities to use and develop skills in working with patients with terminal conditions.
Given the challenging nature of psychological treatment for life-limiting conditions, we are seeking a clinician with good clinical acumen and sensitivity.
This role is incorporates regular supervision, supervision for registrars, a positive and caring environment and a multitude of professional development and research opportunities.
What you bring A minimum of a Master's degree in Clinical or Health Psychology Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; Clinical endorsement is desirable (or working towards clinical endorsement) Current clinical knowledge in the field of progressive neurology is desirable Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A desire to join a team committed to the care of others To apply please submit a cover letter and resume via the online portal.
