Opportunity snapshot: We are building an Internal Developers Portal (IDP) for enhancing self-serve capabilities, increasing productivity and creating product catalogues with a 360-degree product view in a single-pane of glass used by Engineering teams.
The Cloud Platform Dev Ops Engineer is crucial in building the IDP, responsible for handling all activities for building, testing and release of IDP, creating paved golden paths for developers with Blueprints, shifting-left of cloud application environments provisioning, CI/CD and observability with defined security and guardrails for multiple products, and maintaining a robust stable portal for application environments.
This will include designing and implementing processes and tools to support continuous integration, delivery, and testing.
The Cloud Platform Dev Ops Engineer will be a proponent for good software engineering standards and practices.
The candidate will also review existing processes and make recommendations & implement software process improvements going forward based on SDLC/ALM standards.
The candidate will have Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Azure, Kubernetes, and SCRUM experience and/or certifications.
Your Contribution: Drive continuous improvement in Dev Ops & Cloud Platform capability ensuring it is always relevant and meets the needs of internal customer groups.
Define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing, and release management.
Lead large scale implementation of platform and services from inception through to production, maintaining quality documentation and procedures for the ongoing support of the platform.
Build and maintain a robust stable IDP which improves self-serve capabilities, improves Dev Ex, and improves productivity.
Ensure repeatable and consistent environments for applications with containers and reduce the overall cloud hosting costs.
Establish rapid repeatable deployment patterns with docker images, Helm charts - zero touch no outage deployments.
Container platform Lifecycle Management including capacity planning, sizing of environments to run in a cost-effective manner, and expiry dates for project environments.
Work collaboratively with delivery teams to achieve success through the adoption of Continuous Delivery and Dev Ops practices & processes.
Support internal IT projects that deliver both strategic and operational improvement to the systems.
Keep abreast of industry 'best practice' methods in Dev Ops, Configuration Management arena.
Qualifications, training & Experience: CI/CD Continuous Integration, Delivery & Dev Ops experience in – Microsoft Technologies, Azure Dev Ops.
Extensive Experience with MS Azure Platform and RESTful APIs.
In-depth knowledge of C# and.
Net Framework, Strong Power Shell scripting.
Experience in deploying Paa S solutions, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to Azure Hands-on experience with Container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Caa S, Service Mesh Istio and best practice use from an operations and security perspective.
Experience with Platform Engineering and IDP with Port, Backstage.
Experience designing, building and deploying scalable applications & APIs.
Automation for build and release management - automate and streamline operations and processes.
Release Management utilizing Azure Dev Ops/VSTS mandatory.
Software development and Configuration management automation Proven experience in build management & automation on multiple platforms Windows, Unix (Solaris & Linux).
Excellent Scripting Skills (Power Shell, Shell and Python).
Solid commercial understanding and awareness.
Demonstrated success in managing internal stakeholders.
Experience with monitoring tools and tuning monitoring and alerting to minimize disruptions and be confident of service delivery.
