Organisation: The Royal Children's Hospital Occupation: Medical and Nursing Reference: 12212 The Role: To take professional responsibility for paediatric service delivery in the specialist clinics at Desk D for: Sleep Clinic and a Sleep/Encopresis Vulnerable Child Clinic 7 hours per week (Thursday am and Friday am) Fixed term to 6th February 2025 to 1 February 2026 Working together with the current CCCH medical team, consisting of consultant paediatricians and paediatric advanced trainees.
You will be responsible for: Clinical service delivery in the CCCH Specialist clinics at Desk D, in line with departmental protocols.
Contribute to the administration and finance management of the specialty clinic, including timely and accurate data collection, accurate MBS billing, consistently recording diagnoses and problem lists, and using EMR templates to ensure clear, standardised communication with families and referrers.
Contribute to reduction of waiting lists in line with departmental practices by maximising new patient appointments, rational use of follow up appointments and discharge to community services when appropriate.
Contribute supervision of Fellows in the Victorian Training Program in Community Child Health by providing direct supervision in clinic and teaching when the opportunity arises.
Contribute to medical student and junior medical staff teaching in the clinical and academic setting.
Contribute to the department's research, educational and QI activities as appropriate.
Work with other departments to improve outcomes and services provided by the specialist clinics.
You will have: Current registration as a specialist medical practitioner with AHPRA.
A higher qualification in paediatrics - FRACP or equivalent.
Training and experience in Paediatric Sleep Medicine/Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics/Community Child Health.
Experience in contemporary medical education and clinical supervision.
Experience with working with families experiencing a range of adversity, and an understanding of trauma-informed approaches to care.
