Reference: VG/DE/VCAA/20009270 Occupation: Education and Training Salary Range: $134,593 - $180,115 As the Curriculum Manager - Humanities, you will provide high-level expertise, professional leadership, policy advice, and strategic direction for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) in relation to the humanities curriculum and assessment from the early years to senior secondary.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools.
We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students from birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Curriculum Division in the Curriculum Managers Unit in an ongoing position.
Ongoing role in a passionate team Usual work location: East Melbourne (flexible work conditions may be available) About the Role As the Curriculum Manager - Humanities, you will provide high-level expertise, professional leadership, policy advice, and strategic direction for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) in relation to the humanities curriculum and assessment from the early years to senior secondary.
With your adept stakeholder management skills, you will elevate educational standards and drive improved curriculum outcomes.
Working within the team that manages the curriculum and assessment of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) studies, you will support teachers in implementing the Victorian Curriculum F-10 for humanities subjects.
Each Curriculum Manager oversees specific subject matter within the unit, with collaboration across various areas of the Unit's responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Managing internal and external stakeholders, building relationships, identifying needs, resolving issues.
Preparing and responding to correspondence, presenting discussion papers, submissions, reports and briefings for committees, expert bodies, ministers, or key decision-makers.
Collaborating with other VCAA Divisions and sectors to enhance the overall impact and accessibility of curriculum resources.
Providing training and support to educators in effectively implementing geography curriculum resources in their schools.
Analysing feedback from educators, students, and stakeholders to continually refine and improve curriculum and curriculum support materials.
Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and program management.

Experience in curriculum development and the delivery of professional learning programs, particularly in the design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation is highly desirable.

You are a highly organised and professional person, capable of managing projects with numerous contributors and stakeholders for demanding clients to firm deadlines and budget constraints.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification in Humanities Curriculum areas.
Desirable: Experience teaching in a school setting in the related subject matters.
