The Company: My client is an international service-based system integrator who has been around for 20 years and they design, install and service security, fire alarm, life safety, AV and building automation solutions.
About The Role: In this role the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects which are primarily larger and more complex.
Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
You will be required to handle the technical support for customers and be responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Security, and/or integrations into Building Automation Systems.
What you will be doing: Perform in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements.
Manage a wide variety of project aspects including estimating, design, tracking, start up and planning phases.
Provide input, reviews and possibly prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications, indicating location of devices, equipment, and wiring etc.
Advise Project Manager/s and/or Sales regarding appropriate products needed for installations.
Identify any issues on product lines continually to ensure timely delivery of projects.
May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
Assists Project Managers to prepare and/or review formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
May be required to perform other Project Manager duties as and when required.
Provide onsite assistance with the installations and startups, check out and turnover processes.
Act as a technical resource and support to sales executives.
Prepare databases and job-related programming for computer-based systems.
Provide performance feedback to management regarding Engineering Specialists and transfers knowledge and expertise to other Specialists.
Skills required: Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to electronic security systems, building automation systems, fire alarm systems.
Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
Frequent visits to jobsites as well as some overnight travel will be required.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), Auto CAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).
Who You Are: You must have a min on 2+ years relevant Security industry experience.
Experience working in a Data Centre environment is a MUST.
Min. Bachelor's Degree required.
Product-specific certifications preferred; applicable industry-specific and/or IT certifications required.
Full valid Australia driver's license required with a clean record.
