Significant Deputy CEO role for the NDIAFocus on government, legal and dynamic risk Lead oversight and advice that improves outcomes About the organisation The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency responsible for implementing the world leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), one of the biggest social reforms since Medicare. The NDIS is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and provide peace of mind for every Australian. The Governance, Risk and Legal Group comprises four divisions encompassing Government, Chief Counsel, General Counsel and Risk, Audit and Resilience. About the role The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) Governance, Risk and Legal (GRL) has responsibility for the core areas of Government, Legal, Risk and Audit for the NDIA. Leading diverse, central functions, the DCEO GRL is charged to work closely with senior executives and government stakeholders to strengthen relations towards better whole of government outcomes. Drawing on deep understanding of navigating government, dynamic risk, and legal advisory, the DCEO GRL will navigate people systems and processes to ensure the group facilitates a sound base for all operations, policy advice and scheme decisions. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, the DCEO GRL contributes to the decision making across the organisation to ensure a culture of high performance, delivery and innovation, in a dynamic environment. About you You are a seasoned leader with a track record of delivering results in complex public sector environments. With extensive expertise in government, legal, risk, and audit functions, you ensure accountability, transparency, and strategic focus. As a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team, you shape decisions, represent the organisation, and provide expert guidance on compliance and risk. Your deep understanding of government rhythms, policy and law helps drive outcomes that protect the organisation's integrity.
