Leongatha Kitchens & Bathrooms (formerly Don Bruce Kitchens) specialises in creating quality custom-built kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes, vanities, commercial joinery and more throughout the Gippsland, Bass Coast and Melbourne regions.
We provide project management - from design to finish - to the new home builder, renovator and the commercial and residential building industry.
We pride ourselves on our professional advice, quality of materials, attention to detail, precision workmanship and "good old-fashioned service." In 2015, we launched our sister-company, Verde Life Outdoor Kitchens, and expanded our scope via the creation of a new innovative specialised joinery product – Sustaina Pod – sustainable, pre-assembled, modular cabinetry.

Position Description The Estimator/ Designer is responsible for designing a wide variety of projects, from bespoke high-end cabinetry and whole-house fit-outs, for new builds and renovations.
Key responsibilities will include reading and interpreting design briefs, architectural drawings, house and construction plans; creating detailed joinery CAD drawings, ready for construction; as well as proficiency in calculating job material, trades services and price estimates and preparing jobs for factory production and building trades.
This role is responsible for the client consultation and sales process, ensuring the highest level of client experience, providing excellent presentation and communication.
The position is often consulting with clients, providing specialised information on products and services and colour consultations, meeting client's budget and expectations.
The Junior Estimator/ Designer role would suit applicants who have recently completed a relevant degree or qualification with a strong interest in building, construction and built-in cabinetry for the residential kitchen and bathroom industry.
The Senior Estimator/ Designer will have a solid background in kitchen and bathroom renovation, design and estimating - completing key responsibilities independently and efficiently.
Desired Experience Formal qualifications in cabinetmaking, building or design of kitchens and interior spaces is highly regarded.

Designing with a joinery Computer Aided Design (CAD) program, Cabinet Vision (or similar) Estimating experience, calculating job materials, trades services and pricing Using information technology tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office – Microsoft Word and Excel (formulas and spreadsheets) Reading and interpreting design briefs, architectural drawings, house and construction plans Knowledge of cabinet making and joinery products and services, including a sound knowledge of manufacturing standards and CNC machinery for manufacture Specific Responsibilities and Duties Read and interpret architectural drawings, house and construction plans to involve detailed joinery Design residential joinery, creating detailed joinery CAD drawings from plans and design briefs Documentation of built-in cabinetry using 2 D and 3 D joinery CAD drawings including floorplans, elevations, sections and mechanical plans which meet the drafting standards and industry specific practices relating to the kitchen and bathroom industry Calculate job materials and pricing, following standard procedures, writing and editing business document templates to prepare documents such as quotes, variations and selection sheets Prepare and process purchase orders for job material specifications Prepare jobs, ready for factory production Build genuine rapport with clients and suppliers, intuitively modifying your communications to suit different types of audiences Attend on-site and showroom consultation and sales appointments, providing specialised information on products and services Measure and design kitchen and bathroom plans in consultation with client, meeting client's budget and expectations Provide professional colour, product and service consultations, ensuring the highest level of client experience, providing excellent presentation and communication General Administration Initial greeting of visitors and welcoming clients Manage incoming phone calls and direct as appropriate Arrange client appointment bookings using Microsoft Outlook Calendar Maintain and professionally respond to e-mails as required Document and relay internal messages and client communications and information with great attention to detail Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Communication Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy to consistently interact effectively and flexibly with diverse groups of people including clients, management, staff, subcontractors and the public Be an active listener and excel at asking information-gathering questions Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information Work with a high degree of detail and accuracy in relation to planning, documenting and coordinating client contact matters Ability to take responsibility for the outcomes of client contact and resolve complex situations Organisation Exceptional organisational skills sufficient to prioritize and complete key responsibilities independently while balancing competing needs and attending to detail Attention to detail combined with the ability to implement established processes and procedures Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a busy office with frequent interruptions, changing priorities and short deadlines Have a natural fast-paced attitude and be recognized as a multi-tasker Business Professionalism Skilled in professional business writing including drafting emails, formal quotations and letters Ability to proof and correct work with a detailed knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation High energy, outgoing and creative, with a passion for people and customer service Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually Judgement and prudent exercise of authority in formulating and implementing problem solutions Ability to provide leadership, resilience and professionalism amongst staff and a positive work environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
