Digital Engineering Technical Specialist
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium's Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Digital Engineering Technical Specialist
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the implementation of digital engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle, with a specific focus on improving project delivery and enhancing project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement digital engineering strategies that support construction and operation of this major civil infrastructure project.
Collaborate with project managers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of digital engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain project-specific digital engineering standards, procedures, and protocols.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of digital engineering solutions, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for future enhancements.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in digital engineering technologies and methodologies, and make recommendations for their application to civil infrastructure projects.
Act as a subject matter expert on digital engineering within the company, providing thought leadership and guidance to project teams and senior management.
To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and capabilities:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience, demonstrating competency in complex infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to prepare quality execution/management plans.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving: Ability to analyse challenges, develop innovative solutions, and champion new digital workflows.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders.
