Director, Global to Local Strategy and Implementation This is a permanent position with the flexibility to work from home and it's part of the Washington Management Service (WMS) .

As the Director of Global To Local Strategy and Implementation, you'll be at the forefront of translating global health strategies into actionable programs that improve public health outcomes across Washington State.
Your role will be instrumental in strengthening existing programs, developing new initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships to drive holistic health solutions.
In this dynamic, startup-like environment, you'll work closely with a diverse array of stakeholders including government agencies, academic institutions, and local and international partners.
You'll be responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring effective coordination, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations: Develop and implement strategic plans and policies that align with global to local frameworks.
Provide guidance on emerging health issues and advocate for policies at various levels.
Oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of health programs.
Ensure coordination among DOH divisions and external partners, and adjust programs based on data-driven insights.
Drive well-researched initiatives, analyze data to identify trends and opportunities, and use evidence-based insights for decision-making.
Create and deliver training programs for staff and partners, enhancing their ability to address locally relevant global health challenges.
Lead communication efforts to raise awareness of global health issues, build relationships with stakeholders, and represent OGO at public forums.
Assist in budget allocation, pursue funding opportunities, and manage grants to support health programs.
Build partnerships with academic institutions and NGOs.
Promote innovative practices and integrate new methodologies.
Advocate for effective health policies and participate in policy advisory groups.
Develop emergency preparedness plans and coordinate responses to health emergencies.
Implement continuous improvement processes and ensure program quality.

The ideal applicant will meet one of the following options along with the listed Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities.
Option 1: Eleven (11) or more years of experience in public health, with a significant focus on Global Health or related areas.
Option 2: Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field AND seven (7) or more years of experience in public health, with a significant focus on Global Health or related areas.
Option 3: Master's degree in public health or a related field AND five (5) or more years of experience in public health, with a focus on Global Health or related areas.
And the following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities: Proven experience in strategic planning, program management, and policy development.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and secure funding for health initiatives.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse interested community members, interested parties/groups, and working partners.
Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of interested community members, interested parties/groups, and working partners, including government agencies, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
Proficiency in project management software and data analysis tools.
In-depth understanding of Global to Local frameworks and principles and their application to public health.
Familiarity with local, national, and international health policies.
Knowledge of grant management and contract administration.
