The Opportunity The Director Unlisted Assets and ESG Technology, Investment Technology is accountable for the delivery of the platform, technology and data needs of the Unlisted Assets and ESG related Investment Teams.
The Director will be enabled to achieve this by bringing together the core and complementary capabilities of the Investment Business Operations (IBO) which represents Investment Operations, Technology, Organisational Enablement, and Investment Data Management (IDM).
The Director is responsible for driving the delivery of investment needs including the integration of new data and analytics solutions and platforms, and where appropriate the extension of the current platform landscape, to enhance the management and reduce risk of our investment portfolios.
The role requires strong practical understanding of investment processes, and how to unite them with the supporting business functions to ensure clear direction and prioritisation across a range of data, operations and technology.
The role will be responsible for the overall delivery roadmap and relationship success across a range of similar asset classes, with similar needs.
The success of the role will enable the Investment teams to feel empowered and connected with IBO.
The Director Unlisted Assets and ESG Technology, reports to the Director, Investment Technology and will drive delivery with a focus on careful utilisation of the cross-skilled resourcing provided by IBO.
The Director leads a high performing, cross-skilled team with various skillsets to improve the Agency's investment data and analytics capability.
Focused on Unlisted Assets and ESG Investment capabilities, responsibilities include: Acts as the trusted central contact for the Investment Team's technology and data needs Defining and managing an agreed pipeline of initiatives to drive solutions for Investment Teams, focused on clear collaboration and transparency Defining and designing specific solutions to investment data and analytics needs and overseeing the acquisition, development and implementation of solutions in line with Investment priorities and Future Fund standards Ensuring solutions are appropriately managed and supported once live, and that their health is maintained Working with the Investment Business Operations to manage the priority and pipeline of resources and platforms required to meet Investment needs Collaboratively working with colleagues and the Director, Investment Technology on the appropriate allocation of IBO resources, and expertise where required Contributing to the strategic direction of the Investment Technology, and wider Technology function.
Participating in and contributing to strategic conversation and direction of the other IBO teams servicing the Investment business, particularly IDM, Investment Operations and Organisational Enablement.
Reports to: Director, Investment Technology Direct Reports: Up to 4 specialists (i.e.
Quantitative Analyst, Technical Leads, and/or Delivery Managers) and various in-direct reports Key Tasks and Responsibilities Strategy and leadership People leadership Standards, policies and procedures About You Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Commerce or similar.
Desirable: Relevant finance and/or technology delivery certification (e.g., CFA, PMP) Experience Proven delivery specialist, with demonstrated delivery of parallel, complex projects and initiatives through a broad remit of investment process using a mix of different resource skill sets, and delivery methodologies Experience in the design and development of various technology, operations and/or data analytics solutions, preferably in investment management or a related industry Strong interpersonal communication and consultation skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders that have a range of technical literacy and seniority Strong investment management industry experience (multi asset class investment management, capital markets, wealth management, Fo Fs) Experience and comfortable working in ambiguous and complex environments, with time poor stakeholders and wide-ranging needs Demonstrated experience across several different investment technology, data management, data-warehousing and software development solutions Demonstrated experience in communicating complex technology concepts to both technical and non-technical people, to ensure the organisation's investment assets meet business expectations from both a functional and operational perspective.
