Industrial & Employee Relations (Human Resources & Recruitment) Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia.
AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity.
We employ over 500 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.
AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and is committed to sustainable gas delivery today and tomorrow.
Our low carbon vision targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.
About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to lead and manage the employee and industrial relations function at AGIG.
This role will serve as the subject matter expert in providing high-quality industrial and employee relations leadership.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping a progressive workplace culture, establishing policies and guidelines, and managing people integration during transitional periods.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement an employee relations strategy aligned with AGIG's overall business plan.
Lead enterprise agreement negotiations, including formulation, implementation, and interpretation.
Provide expert advice on performance management, investigations, grievances, and industrial relations matters.
Collaborate with stakeholders to support organisational change processes and engage with unions where necessary.
Lead transition and people integration activities, considering both current and future industrial relations landscapes.
Support policy development, change management, and training initiatives.
Build leadership capability through coaching and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment law and reducing legal risks.
Manage budgetary requirements and contribute to the delivery of annual functional plans.
Liaise with legal advisors and manage industrial relations issues during transitional periods.
About You: Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Employment Law, or related fields.
Proven experience in leading an industrial and employee relations function.
Experience managing business integration and transitional agreements.
Expertise in strategy development, conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace investigations.
Demonstrated success in policy development and consultation with key stakeholders.
Experience representing organisations in Fair Work Commission (FWC), Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC), and other relevant bodies.
Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Australian employment law, and associated legislation.
