Executive Director, Commercial Operations– México We govern the beautiful game and ensure it's run with transparency and integrity.
The Commercial Department, consisting of Brand, Host City Rights Management, Commercial Rights Delivery, Partnerships Integration, Licensing and Retail, and FIFA Fan Festival, aims to deliver the most engaging, innovative, and accessible World Cup experience for all athletes, fans, partners, and the community.
Reporting organisationally to the Chief Tournament Officer, the Commercial Operations Executive Director will help serve Commercial efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues.
This role will be responsible for leading all aspects of rights management, commercial partnerships and licensing to maximize financial success and support the successful delivery of the tournament.
Further, this role will oversee the management of other revenue-generating activities for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
THE POSITION The main responsibilities of the Commercial Executive Director for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include: Lead the commercial operations delivery in Mexico as set forth by the Functional Area lead for the tournament.
Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive commercial strategies to help the FIFA Commercial Department manage sponsorships, partnerships, and revenue-generating opportunities for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Assist FIFA's Commercial department in overseeing the execution of commercial contracts with global and regional sponsors, ensuring alignment with FIFA's brand and objectives.
Lead, motivate, and inspire a team responsible for managing relationships with existing and new FIFA commercial partners, ensuring their needs are met, and maximizing value for both parties.
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to integrate commercial partners into promotional and branding activities effectively.
Develop and implement a robust marketing and activation plan for commercial partners to optimize their visibility and engagement throughout the tournament.
Explore innovative revenue-generating opportunities, such as licensing, merchandising, hospitality, and ticketing strategies, to enhance the event's financial success.
Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and sponsorship data to identify new business opportunities and optimize existing partnerships.
Manage the team that will assist the 2026 FWC Host City Committees in their delivery of the FIFA Fan Festival and other Host City programs.
Manage a team that monitors and implements the correct use of the different tournament and host city brand assets.
Monitor and manage the commercial budget, ensuring financial targets are met, and expenses are controlled effectively.
Work closely with the Host City Committees to coordinate commercial activities and leverage local market opportunities.
Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with commercial agreements, contractual obligations, and relevant laws.
Represent the FIFA World Cup 2026 in commercial-related local negotiations and engagements with partners and stakeholders.

The specific competencies we require for this position are: Master's Degree or similar level of education in Business, Administration, Marketing, etc.
Minimum of 15 years of experience at a Managing or Director Level Experience in revenue-generation Ability to see the big picture and adapt accordingly Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams Fluent in English & Spanish About FWC2026 The FIFA World Cup 26 will mark the first time that the tournament features 48 teams and will be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
