PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
This role is responsible for ensuring that our Quality Framework, Practice Manual, systems and processes within Safe Steps are fit for purpose and will also play a significant role in facilitating complex case panels.
The
Manager Practice Excellence, Domestic and Family Violence
will support the Director of Clinical Services to develop and deliver a range of programs that will build the capacity and capability of our people to deliver best-practice family violence crisis services through professional supervision, training and professional development. The
Manager Practice Excellence, Domestic and Family Violence
will also be responsible for specific projects and quality improvement activities to support accreditation, requirements of contractual service agreements and our service expansion initiatives.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Executive Team to develop a program of activity that aligns with the Safe Steps strategic plan and with our front-line staff to ensure they have access to contemporary skills, information and support. The
Manager Practice Excellence, Domestic and Family Violence
will maintain a strong understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics that demonstrate the quality-of-service delivery and initiate actions to modify or improve practice where necessary.
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
Safe Steps is the only 24/7, family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a "state-wide entry point" for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, Webchat, and access to supported crisis accommodation.

Our practice is trauma-informed and guided by evidence. We provide services to all victim-survivors and recognise that most of our work is dedicated to the needs of women and children which reflects the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.

The
Manager Practice Excellence, Domestic and Family Violence
is based at the Safe Steps head office in North Melbourne, however, working across all sites may be required.
The
Manager Practice Excellence, Domestic and Family Violence
is expected to uphold the organisation's policies and procedures as well as the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and Human Services Standards, which include the following obligations:

to obtain consent for the disclosure of information about a client
to inform any client who wishes to make a complaint about the organisation of their right to do so, and to assist them in initiating a complaint.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Professional practice
Provide authoritative best practice advice and guidance to staff, based on evidence and, where applicable, professional standards
Provide complex client case/conditions consultations and support
Facilitate Complex Case Panel sessions, professional supervision and training
Ensure the Quality Framework, Practice Manual, systems and processes within Safe Steps are up to date and fit for purpose
Monitor SLA's, KPI's and other metrics as a way of measuring service quality
Support the development of evidence-based models/programs/research for new/modified services
Participate in accreditation readiness activities
Quality and Service Improvement
Ensure that Quality and Practice Frameworks reflect best practice and are fit for purpose across Safe Steps
Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement and lead activities to improve service quality and client experience
Supervision, Training and Professional Development
Develop, enable and facilitate a professional supervision model across Safe Steps
Drive service-related training and professional development
Support student internships and placements
Other
Perform other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by management from time to time, especially specific projects aligned to SLA's, research, grant funding and/or changes in legislation/regulation.
Implement strategies to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all clients and staff, including those from the LGBTIQ+ community, CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and people with disabilities.
Engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI) to enhance service delivery and governance, ensuring inclusivity and equity.
Collaborate with services to provide comprehensive support for the LGBTIQ+, CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Disabilities Communities.
Complete mandatory and other training as required.
Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including all workplace health and safety measures.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant qualification or equivalent experience
Knowledge of and experience in a service delivery environment for family violence issues, crisis interventions, mental health, relationship, and child abuse
Expertise in developing policies, programs, training to support staff deliver high-quality service, and maintaining framework documents.
Extensive practice supervision experience, both individual and group
Demonstrated experience in leading people to outcomes and driving a positive culture
Demonstrated project and program management experience
Demonstrated ability to monitor quality indicators and adjust practice in response
Willingness to commit to the living expression of Safe Steps values; Integrity, Diversity and Empowerment
Experience in promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity within an organisation.
Understanding of the unique challenges faced by priority groups including the LGBTIQ+ community and strategies to address them.
A current Victorian Drivers Licence
A current Working with Children Check or willingness to acquire one.
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
