About the Business Unit The primary focus of the Executive Officer is to support the effective operation of the Regional Aboriginal Advisory Committee (RAJAC) for the West Metropolitan Region of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, and to ensure the active participation and engagement of the Aboriginal community in the Aboriginal Justice Agreement (AJA).
About the Role The Executive Officer is responsible for the development and maintenance of supportive linkages between justice agencies and community organisations, providing policy advice, implementing the Regional Justice Plan, providing secretariat services to the RAJAC, and promoting all AJA initiatives within the region.
Some of your duties will include: Provide key support, secretariat services, and advice to the RAJAC including the preparation of meeting papers, agenda, venue, catering, and minute taking.
Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain regular contact with the Chairperson West Metropolitan RAJAC.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities, society and culture.
Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal communities.
Qualifications Related qualifications and/or experience is desirable.
For Aboriginal Designated and Prioritised positions, a Certificate of Aboriginality (Co A) will be required prior to an offer of employment being made.
