Apply now Job no: 521860 Work type: Salaried Location: Melbourne Categories: Finance As our Financial Analyst, you will work as part of the Management Accounting team to achieve the completion of an accurate and timely month-end close to assist key stakeholders with decision making. You will analyze monthly results and partner with various stakeholders across the business to identify favourable and unfavourable variances against forecast and advise stakeholders on areas for improvement. You will also be responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items. What else will you be doing? Month-End Profit & Loss Reporting Prepare and finalise monthly venue profit and loss statements for reporting purposes, including:Review and reconciliation of Food and Beverage sales and cost of goods sold Review and analysis of venue labour costs Review and preparation of venue level operating expense accruals Analysis of monthly venue profit and loss statements, including identifying and explaining the cause for favourable and unfavourable variances to budget Communication of analysis findings to stakeholders Business Partnering Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders (including the finance team, venue managers and other department heads) Engage as an active member of the finance team and contribute to team meetings Weekly Analysis of Profit & Loss Review of weekly venue profit and loss statements against budget to identify favourable or unfavourable variances. Balance Sheet Reconciliations Preparation of selected balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis Investigate and resolve any material reconciling items that exist in account reconciliations performed Skills & Attributes: Technical or functional expertise including excellent numeracy skills Accuracy and attention to detail Effective organisation and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Honesty, integrity and trust Ability to work as part of a team Qualifications & experience Tertiary qualified in finance / accounting Part CA or CPA preferred but not essential Minimum of three years of practical experience within a large or mid-tier accounting firm or a similar role in industry.
