Established in Victoria in 2017, we currently have 22 operational services and a pipeline of a further 40 centres to be rolled out over the next three years across Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales.
We are now looking for a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team! About the Opportunity This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organisation and provides the potential for further development and growth based on the candidate's abilities.
Responsibilities Assist with the task allocation, delivery and review of the finance team's core tasks for a portfolio of centres, including but not limited to: Monthly general ledger reconciliations, including government grants and subsidies, payroll, and intercompany transactions; Monthly management reporting, including variance analysis and commentary; The accounts receivable function, including debtor analytics, collection of outstanding balances and reconciling debtor balances from XAP to G/L balances in Xero; The accounts payable function, including reviewing transaction processing team invoices entered into Xero and Verifying bond and family debt balances for families who have requested bond refunds; Oversight of daily reconciliation of bank accounts in Xero for all centres and head office entities; Preparation and lodgement of monthly IAS and quarterly BAS; Monitor the Accounts shared mailboxes and action queries from centres and vendors; Maintenance of entity-level fixed asset registers; Assistance with annual ITR, FBT and financial reporting obligations; Work collaboratively with remote-based transaction processing team; and Other ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed About You CA qualified with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in similar accounting-based roles.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Professional Accounting Firm in Australia.
Childcare and/or real estate sector experience is preferred, otherwise a demonstrated ability to quickly build comprehension of new industries.
Audit experience would be looked upon favourably.
A demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, specifically the ability to document key processes and identify and implement process improvements.
Ability to solve complex problems, undertake analysis & develop new processes and procedures, and communicate solutions to all stakeholders, providing advice and support Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
In-depth understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and industry specific regulations.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Advanced knowledge of accounting software, financial reconciliations, dashboards, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
Net Suite experience would be looked upon favourably.
Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and efficiently to consistently complete assigned tasks within allocated timeframes; Demonstrated ability to work both unsupervised and independently, and collaboratively with the team when required; Commitment to following company policies and processes.
