Develop and grow a large accounting team About the Opportunity This is an outstanding opportunity to join a nationally-recognised transport and logistics business at its head office based in Wodonga on the NSW/Victorian border.

This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller/GM Finance to contribute to the ongoing growth of this successful business.
Industry experience in Logistics or Transport is desirable but not essential, you may have a background in FMCG /Supply chain for example or similar entrepreneurial business with a strong customer focus.
An understanding of working in a dynamic, family owned, medium-sized business ($200 M+), that is professionally run will be an advantage.
About You You are a commercially astute and experienced finance and accounting executive looking for a career challenge with a progressive industry leader. A strong leader, able to engage and encourage the very best from your direct reports Your experience will include: Successful hands-on senior financial accounting or Financial Controller experience of at least 5-8+ years with overall responsibility for planning, reporting and compliance Strong communication skills - analytical, written and verbal Experience in managing and leading teams in a highly transactional and dynamic environment Demonstrated experience in improving processes and procedures Ability to improve financial understanding and practices of internal customers.

Applicants will be required to be degree qualified in Business, Commerce or Accounting and CA/CPA certified with around 10 years' experience post qualification. About the Role Reporting to the CFO, and supported by an experienced and professional accounting team, the GM Finance is responsible for the management of all accounting and finance functions of the business. This is a challenging and rewarding role, that requires a keen eye for process, efficiency and accuracy, but also a passion for business management, continuous improvement and driving change. Key responsibilities include: Providing leadership to the accounting team Working collaboratively with the broader group management team Delivery of timely and accurate management information and results Weekly and monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting, in addition to supporting the annual budget and forecasting processes Working capital management, ensuring all employees and suppliers are paid on time and in full Ensure customer accounts are performing within boundaries of agreed credit terms Financial oversight of the Company's self-insurance and risk management programs Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting, finance and administrative teams Co-ordinating the annual audit and preparation of financial statements Assisting with co-ordination and development of annual budgets and quarterly four-way forecasts Ensuring the organisation operates within all statutory and legal requirements Contributing to continuous quality improvement by proactively reviewing and implementing process and reporting improvements.
Proactively engaging & managing external relationships with financiers, legal counsel, auditors & insurers About the Location Albury / Wodonga is located in the beautiful north-east corner of Victoria and ideally situated an easy 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne or 5.5 hour drive from Sydney.
