We are ISO 45001 accredited and proud of our safety record!About the role The Group Manager, Health & Safety provides expert support and advice to the organisation on all matters relating to work health and safety. The role builds the capability of leaders, so that the Belgravia WHS management system is effectively embedded in all work areas. The position is responsible for the evaluation and continuous improvement of our WHS management system and its implementation across the organisation. Reporting on WHS performance to Managers and governance is also a key responsibility, with the aim of contributing to and ensuring informed decision making. The role needs to lead, influence and build collaborative solutions to work health and safety in a complex AU/NZ organisation. Key Duties In collaboration with the Executive Team, develop, maintain and evaluate the WHS strategy to maintain positive WHS culture and continuously improve WHS performance, consistent with contemporary practice, current research and legislative compliance requirements. Lead and maintain ISO 45001 accreditation. Lead and maintain our annual cycle of site audit activities and compliance. Manage Health and Safety committee meetings and follow up actions. Collaboratively assist, coach, influence and support stakeholders and leaders to make informed decisions which build WHS performance. Coach and mentor managers in the application of the WHS Management Systems and risk management. Provide information and advice to management and governance regarding serious WHS risks to the organisation and devise appropriate solutions. Injury Management and Workers Compensation – Manage and maintain WHS reporting systems and facilitate a reporting culture to monitor incidents and injuries and identify risks. In collaboration with the People & Culture team, develop and continuously improve training packages for our people to build capability and knowledge. Manage annual WHS budget forecasting, setting, implementation and review processes. ESSENTIAL: A commitment to drive a culture of safety excellence. A tertiary qualification in WHS or related discipline or significant senior WHS experience. Sound knowledge and understanding of AU/NZ WHS legislation, codes of practice and other requirements. Proven ability in developing WHS strategies, psychosocial risk management, systems, policies and procedures. Interstate and International travel required. Experienced with internal audits. Attention to detail and experience producing safety reporting. Proven experience providing effective WHS consultancy services within a large multi-site organisation. Ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation particularly site-based staff. At least 3 years in a similar role. DESIRABLE: Experience working with remote teams.
