General Manager – Victoria & South Australia An exciting opportunity has opened at C.

Robinson, and we are seeking a talented and experienced General Manager to lead our freight forwarding operations for VIC & SA.
Based in Melbourne, this role leads our biggest branch in the region and plays an instrumental role in our global business.
As a General Manager, you'll drive the branch's sales and operations to achieve our strategic business and financial objectives.
Your role will be key to ensuring our quality, growth, and efficiency goals align with the broader enterprise vision.

About the role: The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Strategic Business Planning and Management: This role will set, articulate, and lead the branch's vision and direction.
It will drive improved business decision making by utilizing analytics; identifying gaps and leveraging organizational resources to help improve efficiency, productivity, and financial results.
Design, implement, and review organizational structure to drive business objectives, including role definition, capacity alignment, annual workforce planning, forecast resource needs, and partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit and onboard qualified talent.
Responsible for managing the financial performance of the branch including setting and achieving volume and margin targets, overseeing expense management, and reviewing periodic performance reports to adjust strategies.
Guide the team on customer-related decisions, such as investment strategies, contract negotiations, pricing, and managing loss rates, ensuring alignment with overall commercial goals.
Business Growth and Development: Seek opportunities to strengthen and maintain existing relationships with strategic customers.
Analyze a defined set of customers' businesses to identify strategic opportunities, manage challenges, and provide guidance to sales, account management, and operations teams.
Drive best practices in sales and account management by leveraging and reinforcing C.
H.
Robinson's tools and strategies to facilitate more strategic selling and account relationships by focusing on customer motivations and their desired outcomes.
Talent Management: Oversee the development and performance of team members through coaching, mentoring, and training, while leveraging analytics for talent assessment and aligning resources effectively.
Manage compensation, bonus planning, and employee recognition strategies to ensure effective reward systems.
Review engagement measures and implement action plans to enhance organizational culture, collaboration, and overall employee satisfaction.
General Management: This role will represent C.
H.
Robinson as legal representative to agencies, organizations, private and government organizations and lead or participate in various industry, community, and campus activities.
Implement business continuity plans, adhere to workplace conduct, risk management and compliance practices and ensuring self and team act with the highest ethical standards.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will have: Extensive experience in leading business strategy, operations and change management within a large organization.
Experience managing financials for a business segment with ability to understand and communicate financial metrics, including P & L.
Demonstrated success generating revenue or business growth in a client-facing role with sales, account management, and/or carrier management experience.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University.
Minimum 8 years of people management experience.
Ability to travel up to 50% (domestically).
