GIS Professional - 12-Month+ Contract Engagement My client is seeking an experienced GIS professional to support their Enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) and GEOINT business, specifically focusing on maintaining and enhancing GIS technologies.
The role involves working with a distributed information management system, including Arc GIS Desktop and Server applications across multiple sites and networks.
You will be responsible for supporting unique technical systems and business-specific GIS workflows, from data production through to dissemination, and engaging with users to ensure best practices.
Position Overview: The role requires an experienced contractor to work under limited direction, focusing on customer engagement, process modeling, and the development of functional and non-functional requirements.
This position will support the system enhancement efforts of the Air Charting Section, requiring a professional capable of independent work.
Key Responsibilities: Installation, configuration, and support of Esri's Mapping and Charting Solution suite.
Administration and support of Arc GIS Pro and Arc GIS Enterprise systems.
Management of spatial data using advanced GIS skills.
Administration and troubleshooting of Esri systems, including web services.
Engagement with internal stakeholders to provide expert advice and transparency on upcoming technology changes.
Implementation and optimization of automated workflows within Arc GIS Workflow Manager.
Integration of GIS workflows across multiple security domains.
Regular engagement with both commercial and government partners as needed.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with Arc GIS Pro, Arc GIS Enterprise, and Esri's Mapping and Charting solutions.
Experience managing spatial data and administering Esri systems.
Familiarity with Esri Web Services and open geospatial standards (OGC, OWF Geo Services, etc.).
Desirable: Experience with Defence geospatial production processes and Defence intelligence workflows.
Esri certifications such as: Arc GIS Desktop Associate/Professional.
Enterprise Geodata Management.
Enterprise Administration.
Preferred: Understanding of systems across multiple security domains.
Security Clearance: NV2 security clearance is preferred.
However, candidates with an NV1 clearance will be considered, with the opportunity to upgrade clearance during the project.
