The Role: As the Head of Finance (Family Office), you will have the unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of the newly established family office entity.
Essentially a blank canvas, this highly autonomous role represents a fantastic prospect to take the lead in shaping the strategic direction and service delivery of the function.
Other duties include: Strategy and Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the family office, aligning with growth aspirations, values, and long-term objectives.
Oversee the performance of the family office, ensuring financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and risk management.
Lead the family office team, fostering a high-performance culture through leadership, mentorship, and professional development.
Regularly track and review performance with clear goals, accountability, and growth opportunities for team members.
Investment Management Oversee the creation, management, and strategic allocation of diversified investment portfolios.
Provide strategic advice on asset allocation and manage investment distribution across asset classes.
Produce detailed analysis and reports to support asset allocation and investment decisions.
Financial Planning and Administration Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor budget performance, and adjust strategies to meet financial goals.
Develop and maintain master cashflow that accurately captures all cashflows including investments, private expenditure, and all tax obligations.
Review and analyse financial statements, tax returns, and manage debt portfolios.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Tax Planning and Compliance Supervise the preparation of tax documentation, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.
Risk Management Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks through comprehensive risk management strategies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and report potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Estate Planning Develop long-term wealth management and succession plans.
Communication and Reporting Ensure transparent, regular reporting of financial performance, investment results, and strategic progress.
Family Governance and Education (Future Need) Establish and maintain governance structures and decision-making frameworks within the family office.
Skills: You are either an experienced Financial Controller / Head of Finance or a first mover from a reputable chartered accounting firm with extensive exposure to wealth management, family offices, or high-net-worth families.
You have highly developed technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, along with proven experience managing complex and high-level stakeholder relationships.
You are a big picture leader who can reason at a conceptual level and drive change while still maintaining strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
You are a natural leader with a high degree of integrity, comfortable challenging the status quo and have the confidence and credibility to engage effectively and build relationships with all levels of an organisation.

Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Advanced degrees such as an MBA or CFA certification are highly desirable.
Either CA, CPA, CFP, or similar financial planning certifications are preferred.
10+ years of experience in wealth management, family office management, or a similar role with a track record of successfully managing financial affairs for high-net-worth families.
Experience in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment and comfortable working in a setting that values agility, innovation, and autonomy.
