Job Type: Full time Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 per year + ESOP & Perks Cuttable is an early stage Ad-Tech company with 24 people, based in South Yarra. We're looking for our first Head of Finance to bring our Finance function in-house. In this role, you'll spend a few months working with our outsourced accounting service provider to ensure a smooth transition. As a team of one in finance, you'll need to be hands-on and involved in all areas of finance, setting up the function from the ground up. You'll work closely with the Co-Founders and leadership team, providing financial leadership that will lay the foundation for our Finance function. Responsibilities: Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership ensuring alignment with Cuttable's strategic plans. Financial Management: Responsible for closing month-end, month-end reporting, reviewing reconciliations prepared by outsourced providers, and ensuring financial accuracy. Transactional Responsibilities: Completing and reviewing payroll and payroll obligations (Superannuation, Workcover, payroll tax, Employee Share plan calculations) AP/AR management and oversight Management of transactional outsourced provider Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support decision-making. Assist with board pack preparation as needed. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all government authorities (ATO, state and national authorities), annual tax obligations, R&D claims, and ad hoc grant management. Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. Business Partnering/Commercial Finance: Collaboration: Work closely with CEO/COO and department heads to support business strategies and financial decision-making, including:Review of pricing and customer profitability Support in contract negotiations with major suppliers Development of initiatives to improve gross margin and profitability Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Monitor financial performance and provide insights to optimize profitability and cash flow. Manage contract review process and legal providers. Maintain legal register of NDAs and key contracts. Experience and Qualifications: ~7+ years of experience in finance leadership roles. Experience in start-up or Saa S environments is highly regarded. Experience with Xero accounting software and reconciling multiple integrations is essential. Awareness of relevant International Financial Reporting Standards. Expert knowledge of taxation legislation, specifically GST & IAS. Tertiary education in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field (preferred). A Master's degree or CPA/CA qualification is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Key Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
