Our group office has a vacancy for a global Head of Geotechnical Engineering . Reporting to the General Manager, Asset Planning & Support, this role is a key and influential leadership position. With our demonstrable history of achievement, including the acquisition of the Las Bambas project and the Khoemacau mine, you'll be part of a company that thinks big and delivers results. This role presents a unique opportunity for a geotechnical engineering leader to contribute to our global success. With the primary purpose being the provision of expert geotechnical engineering advice to teams in Las Bambas, Dugald River, Rosebery, Khoemacau, and Kinsevere, this role plays a critical role in operational outcomes, safety, collaboration and best practices. Working across open pit and underground operations, and a range of deposit types including sediment hosted Cu-Co, porphyry skarn Cu-Mo-Au, and stratiform pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag-Au, this is a rare opportunity for a thought leader who has the engineering agility and dexterity to navigate this diverse landscape. To be considered, applicants must be qualified as a geotechnical engineer and have extensive design and engineering experiences across commodities, mining methods, and deposit types relevant to MMG. Expertise in the provision of advice and governance across multiple assets is highly regarded, together with the ability to develop and maintain relationships within operational and corporate teams. This position is preferably located in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Brisbane, Australia, or an alternative location within MMG's global asset and support office footprint.
