You'll use your leadership experience and bring your genuine care for people, as you manage our front line team in servicing and supporting our vulnerable customers.
About the role: The Head of Retail Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing the Billing, Credit and Metering Operations teams to ensure optimal performance across all operational areas.
This role ensures that processes are efficiently executed, risks are managed, and compliance is maintained, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high engagement.
The Head of Retail Operations stays ahead of industry and technology trends to implement best practices, ensuring Momentum remains competitive and compliant in all things billing, credit and networks.
This position plays a critical role in aligning operational strategies with business goals, driving efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities include: Create and develop a high-performance team aligned with our strategic direction and goals.
Build a high-performance team where all team members are kept accountable.
Manage stakeholders: Ensuring clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
This includes reporting on performance metrics and addressing any concerns proactively.
Balance commercial and social obligations in customer facing practices to ensure the right balanced approach.
Optimise processes: continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
This might involve implementing automation or leveraging innovative technologies.
Use data to drive decision making: utilising data analytics to drive insights and inform strategic decisions.
This includes tracking KPIs and identifying trends or areas for improvement.
Manage crises: continually develop and improve plans for business continuity and disaster recovery to ensure operations can withstand and quickly recover from unforeseen events.
Develop your team: focusing on the development and mentoring of team members to build a high-performance culture.
Financial oversight: monitoring and managing the budget for the operations teams, ensuring financial objectives are met and cost-efficiency is maintained About you: This is a critical role for Momentum.
We are looking for an inspirational, organised leader, who can take initiative, drive continuous improvement, develop, and lead teams of operational experts and keep our essential processes running smoothly.
A real challenge of this role is maintaining a balance between commercial and social responsibilities.
Energy Industry Experience in operations is imperative.
Demonstrated experience in problem solving & work scheduling.
Proven experience in ability to coach others to increase delivery effectiveness.
Exuding passion and energy to foster enthusiasm among the team in bringing your vision to life.
A natural servant leader who seeks to understand by listening and focusses on the growth of the whole person, not just their technical skills.
Adaptable and flexible to changes in priorities and demands.
Decisive and timely to make decisions with limited information.
Excellent influencing skills, including advanced written and verbal communication.
Advanced critical thinking, including being able to distil complex information into clear and simple concepts.
