About the Role As we continue to grow, we're looking for a visionary Head of Sustainability to elevate our efforts in sustainability through fast tracking several key projects to support our overall strategy.
This contract role (8-12 months) will be instrumental in shaping and executing our sustainability strategy across the entire organisation, ensuring we lead with purpose and drive impactful change.
In this role, reporting to the Chief of Staff, you'll combine your sustainability expertise with a holistic approach that includes community engagement, marketing, and brand advocacy.
You'll inspire internal teams, engage external partners, and elevate Carman's sustainability story.
What Does Your Day Look Like? Strategic Leadership : Collaborate with the executive team to align sustainability goals with business objectives, setting ambitious targets and reporting on progress.
Innovative Communication : Develop and lead sustainability communication strategies that engage internal and external audiences, from customers to suppliers, enhancing our brand's sustainability credentials.
Marketing Integration : Work closely with marketing teams to incorporate sustainability into brand messaging, product launches, and customer campaigns.
Supplier Partnerships : Engage suppliers and internal resources and teams to drive sustainable practices, focusing on innovation, packaging, sourcing, and operations.
Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with community partners, industry groups, and customers to champion Carman's sustainability initiatives.
Public Representation : Represent Carman's Kitchen at industry events and forums, showcasing our sustainability achievements and driving public awareness.
Innovation and Circular Economy : Drive innovative approaches to reduce environmental impact, promote resource efficiency, and implement circular economy principles.
Sustainable Product Development : Collaborate with our Sustainability Manager and product teams to ensure new products meet sustainability goals while responding to market demand and consumer expectations.
What Are We Looking For? Experience : Proven experience in senior sustainability roles, ideally within FMCG or food industries.
Holistic Approach : Expertise in sustainability combined with a deep understanding of communications, marketing, and community engagement.
Leadership : Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
Stakeholder Management : Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Passion : A deep commitment to sustainability, with a drive to create positive environmental and social impact.
