Independent Aboriginal Delegate – Goulburn-Murray Water Opportunity to develop experience on a Public Sector Board About the Role This role is ideal for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who would like to develop their skills and experience needed to pursue a Board position in the future.
The 12 months, part-time role will enable the successful applicant to develop their skills and experience on a public sector Board, including strategic planning, managing risks and governance.
The Independent Aboriginal Delegate will be able to provide the Board with an independent perspective on a range of matters, depending on experience.
This role does not have the same responsibilities as a Board Director and does not hold any voting rights.
About Goulburn-Murray Water GMW is Australia's largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria.
GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.
Who we are looking for GMW is seeking applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who: live in Victoria aspire to join a public Board have an interest in water management Connection to community, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute to an effective Board culture are essential.
Previous experience on a Board is not required and people of all ages are encouraged to apply.
