Infrastructure Engineer

Permanent Position – Supporting Infrastructure & Cloud Systems Location: Melbourne CBD with working from home options Agency: Government Agency The Role: This Government Agency is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to monitor, manage, and support a range of Infrastructure and Cloud services in use within the organisation.
The Responsibilities: Undertake day-to-day operation and management of IT Infrastructure, platforms, and Cloud Services.
Act in a "troubleshooting" capacity for all infrastructure and Cloud events, incidents, and problems, providing customer service as well as technical excellence.
Ensure relevant operating procedures are kept current and assist with regular reviews and audits of these procedures.
Create and maintain comprehensive systems documentation and configuration information.
Ensure infrastructure and system security and integrity.
Research, document, justify, and project manage implementation of new technologies as required.
Experience & Prerequisites: Minimum 5 years as a Systems Administrator or junior-mid level IT Systems Engineer.
Technical proficiency and experience across IT Infrastructure operations, Cloud, and on-premise technical environments.
Excellent communication skills and customer focus as a service view.
Experienced in proposing Cloud and on-premise IT infrastructure architectures and best practices.
Strong awareness of security requirements in the management of IT Infrastructure operations, and deep technical experience with cyber security solutions and tools.
Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft suite of products and platforms, in particular, technical experience in a combination of the following: hyperconverged infrastructure, VMWare, Commvault, Server OS's, In Tune, HPE Aruba, Citrix, Palo Alto, O365, Azure.
