As an Investigations Analyst, you will be responsible for undertaking analysis tasks to support investigations regarding complex complaints, public interest disclosures and systemic issues regarding Victorian public sector agencies.
The Victorian Ombudsman (VO) is independent of Government and answerable to the Victorian Parliament, in part through the Integrity and Oversight Committee of the Parliament. The VO provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to the public. Our purpose is to ensure fairness for the public in their dealings with the Victorian public sector, to improve public administration, and engage within both public organisations, the government sector and the broader community. The
Ombudsman Act 1973
is the governing legislation.
The VO's role is to ensure that the services of state and local government, and other public organisations are delivered in a fair and reasonable manner that is compatible with the
Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006
(Vic) and that human rights have been taken into consideration in decision making.
The role:
The role sits within the Investigations team in the Ombudsman's Operations division. The Victorian Ombudsman is a flexible and innovative workplace and from time-to-time employees may be requested to work across teams to progress organisational priorities.
You may be responsible for analysing the following aspects of an enquiry or an investigation:
Development of investigation plans
Witness interviews
Complainant and disclosure management
Obtaining and analysing evidence
Liaising with public sector agencies
