Eku is a specialist battery developer and long term asset owner, with a strong track record of project delivery and responsible capital management.In this role, you will be working within the Investment Management team to commercialise and finance Eku's Australian battery portfolio. Reporting to the APAC Investment Director, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the business (including development, technical and markets functions) to build the investment case for individual projects and broader capital raising initiatives. The role will have a transaction based focus, leveraging your strong deal management and financial modelling abilities to drive high quality execution.This role is well suited to someone with 2-3 years experience in a fast paced transaction advisory or principal investing type environment, looking to move into the dynamic intersection of strategic/developer and asset/funds management work. While the primary focus of this role is Australia project execution, opportunities for collaboration and work across the business globally (including Japan, UK, Italy and new markets) are open to the candidate's interests. Responsibilities of the role Develop and own the business case for new projects and capital raising initiatives with a focus on valuation and risk/return optimisation, presenting recommendations to the Eku management team IC and shareholder forums to ultimately seek investment approval;Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including development, technical and markets functions) to align financial inputs and risk considerations;Construct and maintain the financial model for Australia projects, with a focus on the late stage development cycle in the lead-up to FID and execution of any external financing;Design and carry out robust financial analysis to support negotiation of key contracts and commercial decision-making generally;Deal management of project debt financing processes, coordinating due diligence workstreams, liaising with and managing third party advisors including financial advisors;Transaction support for acquisition of existing assets or developments on a select basis;Liaise with the global Investment Management team to knowledge share and maintain consistency and best practices across the business. Competencies of the role You will ideally have spent a couple years out of university in an investment banking or similar transaction focused environment. The BESS asset class exhibits infrastructure investment characteristics, lending itself to project finance; a core competency of this role is deep understanding of project finance principles paired with ability to build and manage an infrastructure project finance model.You should have excellent communication skills, collaborating with teams from diverse backgrounds and distilling complex financial concepts into clear decision-making frameworks and conclusions.
