Overview: Our client is currently seeking a talented and motivated Junior Accountant with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join their team.
As a Junior Accountant in their business services and tax division, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of accounting functions, including tax compliance, financial reporting, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance documents for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Assist with tax planning and advisory services for clients, including identifying tax-saving opportunities and strategies.
Prepare and review BAS, IAS, and PAYG withholding statements.
Liaise with clients and government authorities as necessary to address accounting and tax-related inquiries.
Qualifications and Skills: Appropriate Bachelor's or higher degree with an Accounting focus.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within a public accounting firm.
Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax laws.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or Quick Books.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Undertaking or enrolled in a CA or CPA program or in progress towards the qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
