We have an exciting opportunity now available for a Junior Software Engineer to join us on a full-time permanent basis, working from our East Melbourne office with flexible time working from home each week, and with travel opportunities available.
As a member of the engineering team, you will participate in the full engineering life cycle which includes developing, optimizing, and deploying new software solutions and infrastructure for the existing platform.
This role will work across all states, and liaise with cardiologists, patients, and other associated teams to derive clinical and business project ideas and facilitate the timely completion of projects.
What you'll do: Participate in the entire software development life cycle, including writing clean code, conducting code reviews, writing documentation, unit/integration tests, manual testing, identifying issues and resolutions.
Liaise with the Technology Lead to implement the overall technical architecture and technology standards, policies, and patterns.
Ensure delivery against timelines and budget.
Work with vendors/SI partners and other solution providers to build and maintain the product.
Participate within a cross-functional Product team to develop and deploy new features and applications.
Identify, assess, track and mitigate technical issues, risks and bottlenecks.
Help with the operational planning themes including security, scalability, testing and resilience.
Adhere to modern software development best practices.
Participate in and support the application engineering capabilities of the team, as well as the project management tasks and Agile rituals.
Who you are: You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
1+ years of experience in developing and deploying production-grade applications in public or hybrid cloud environments, with a strong track record of increasing mastery and responsibility.
Experience with client-side technologies such as Typescript, React, HTML and CSS.
And/or experience with server-side technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java Spring Boot.
Experience with relational databases such as Postgre SQL or My SQL.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices and tools.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex technicalities with colleagues from other disciplines at their level of cognition.
Desirable: Experience working on public cloud environments (AWS or Azure), and associated basic understanding of security, failover, high-availability, and high scalability.
Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience in a fast-paced corporate venture or start-up.
Prior experience in healthcare would be highly preferred.
