This role will see you providing direct support to children and young people in the Kinship Out of Home Care system along with their carers and extended family. Organisational Profile Gippsland & East Gippsland Aboriginal Co-Operative Ltd (GEGAC) is a community controlled not-for-profit Organisation with proud history that is dated back to 1972. Position Purpose The Kinship Case Contracted Worker provides ongoing support to children and young people in care along with their Kinship Carers. We aim to ensure that our Carers have the resources and skills they need to provide quality care. The Kinship Case Contracted Worker will be non-judgemental & have a commitment to best practice to ensure compliance with the VIC Statutory Out of Home Care Standards. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated understanding of challenges experienced by Aboriginal clients and commitment to providing a culturally appropriate service. Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously to develop, implement & manage effective case plans for multiple children or young people simultaneously Demonstrated understanding of trauma & its impact on the development & behaviour of children Understanding of the complex care needs of children & young people living in Out of Home Care Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 Ability to prepare high-quality reports, maintain accurate records & use computer-based technologies for administrative practices Ability to adapt rapidly to changing circumstances & organisational requirements Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable) Victorian Driver's License ESSENTIAL Satisfactory Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check ESSENTIAL Qualification in Community Services ESSENTIAL A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL How to apply for this job A copy of the position description can be obtained below, at GEGAC reception 03 5150 0*** or by emailing ******.
