The Role: Lindsay Transport is currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our Melbourne workshop in Derrimut.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading first class transportation company and play a key part in assisting hundreds of Australian businesses every day to meet their logistics and transportation needs.
Reliability is the cornerstone in transport and to ensure reliability we make sure our fleet is maintained to the highest level.
Your main responsibilities will include: Repair, replace, maintain and diagnose a high volume of all company vehicles including prime movers, rigids and trailers.
Completing repairs and work in a safe and efficient manner.
Servicing vehicles in line with our company service schedule.
Assisting with major repairs such as rebuilds, midlife's, brake / bearing overhauls.
Accurate completion of all documentation associated with fleet maintenance and repairs.
Attending to breakdowns when required on a weekly roster.
Offering AM shifts - $40 - 50ph – overtime available with penalty rates paid.
About You: To be successful for this role applicant must have: Mechanical Trade qualification.
Proven competence in repairs and overhauls.
Effective diagnostic skills, ideally on Kenworth, DAF, Cummins & BPW.
Experience working on prime movers or heavy vehicle trailers highly valued.
Own basic tools (specialist tools are provided) (tool allowance paid).
Basic computer skills.
Professional manner with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Motivated, reliable and a good work ethic.
Teamwork focus with a positive attitude.
To be successful for this role applicants must: Pass a Commercial Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test.
