About the role: This position within the Retail Strategy & Finance team is focused on managing and monitoring the financial and operational performance of the Solar business unit.
Key responsibilities include financial analysis, reporting, and variance assessments, ensuring strong financial control and insightful decision making.
The position requires balancing multiple stakeholders while driving optimal business outcomes and maintaining rigorous financial governance.
Preparation and reporting of timely, accurate and reliable monthly results for the solar business unit Providing key financial and operational reports to stakeholders, including assisting with completion of the weekly solar sales report and monthly BPR including advising how the company and future business decisions might be impacted Assist with analysis to support decision making including recommending solutions for problems or situations Preparation of the annual solar budget and quarterly forecast process Identify, recommend, & support the implementation of system enhancements and ensuring adherence to accounting processes and policies Continuous improvement of processes and results, with a key focus on automation Working closely with the S&ES Commercial team; support the strategy development and analysis efforts of new opportunities and the commercialisation of existing development assets in Origin's portfolio Assist with the preparation of presentations and written materials to communicate outputs from financial and commercial analysis Key contact for the external audit What will you bring? You are a CA/CPA qualified professional with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
Furthermore, you will demonstrate: Proficiency in data and analytical tools (e.g SQL, Tableau) skills with expertise in Excel.
Demonstrated analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and process improvement.
Solid technical accounting knowledge, with the ability to interpret and justify results.
Familiarity with management reporting tools, concepts and methodologies.
Proactive problem solving skills and ability to independently find solutions.
Continuous improvement mindset, focusing on identifying efficiencies.
Understanding of key controls and ability to establish them in daily activities.
Excellent communication skills to present financial results to diverse stakeholders.
