Position overview In this role you'll get to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders as we focus on developing a community centred approach to our communication and engagement work.
You will also be responsible for assisting to get East Gippsland's voice and needs out to other levels of decision makers, through coordination of our advocacy effort.
Leading and managing a team of 8 talented professionals, you'll support Council in campaigns, advocacy, social media, brand development, and reputational risk management.
You will also serve as a trusted advisor to the Mayor, Councillors, and CEO, guiding them through the complex political landscape.
What we're looking for (Key Selection Criteria): Leadership experience and expertise in a communications, engagement and advocacy role within a large and complex organisation.
Experience in successful development and execution of communications and advocacy strategies, to deliver demonstrable outcomes for the organisation and community.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to successfully engage with diverse stakeholders, including Councillors, staff, key partners and the wider community.
Proven ability to build partnerships with first nations communities to support their aspirations.
Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or a related discipline are highly desirable This is a permanent, full time opportunity.
