The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to ensure that prevailing legislation, regulation, codes of conduct and good practice are incorporated into policies, frameworks and standards owned within T&O. You will ensure that the instruments are calibrated to balance the achievement of IAG's strategic objectives with compliance requirements. You will monitor compliance across the enterprise ensuring that policy settings are calibrated appropriately.
With a focus on data governance and effective technology risk management, you will develop and sustain detailed knowledge of relevant regulations and industry frameworks. You will lead the development of risk and controls, aligned with the framework, policy and standard requirements, for adoption across the enterprise to effectively articulate and mitigate the related risk.
This position is a
permanent , full-time opportunity and can be based on the East coast of
Australia .
About You
Working with Group Risk, you will monitor internal and external events that may require policy changes and advocate for the simplification and modernisation of policy development and implementation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A minimum of 8 years' experience in policy setting or similar roles, preferably in the financial services industry, including at least 3 years in leadership positions.
In-depth knowledge of relevant technology, data, information security, and operational risk regulations.
Strong understanding of technology, information security, and data risk coupled with a results-oriented mindset.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and simplify complex topics for an executive audience.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Tertiary qualifications in a legal discipline or a relevant field (e.g., data, technology, or risk), with experience in a professional legal setting being highly desirable.
Familiarity with or experience operating within a three lines of accountability (defence) risk model.
