About the role
The Investment Risk team operates within the Risk & Compliance Business Unit. It supports the Investment team and Trustee by managing risks related to the Australian Retirement Trust (ART) investment activities, ensuring modern risk management practices are applied. The Investment Risk team plays a key role in ensuring ART meets regulatory requirements whilst also focusing on long-term member expectations on risk management and market-leading investment outcomes.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Investment Risk, with responsibility for providing effective oversight and challenge to material Investment Business Area projects and capability initiatives. You will act as a conduit between the Risk and Compliance teams and the Investment team. You will also work closely with Investment Operations & Performance, Legal, and the broader Group Risk Function. Focusing on how Investment Risk activities are performed in accordance with Australian Retirement Trust's Risk appetite and member expectations, key accountabilities include:
Engage in Investment related projects as primary resource, where appropriate, to provide SME expertise in the recognition and management of investment risks or investment related business solutions.
Advise on relevant legislative and organisational requirements faced by the Investment ecosystem.
Provide tailored risk management solutions to Investment Business Area and Investment Operations in relation to process improvements, projects, and initiatives.
Where requested, lead initiatives that address the risks associated with investment activities or act as primary advisor on how the broader Business unit manages risks.
Provide advice to the Senior Manager, Investment Risk, regarding project resourcing requirements.
Build and maintain internal relationships to promote a positive risk culture.

Experience working in investment management/ Financial services in a financial risk management function.

Critical thinking capacity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of financial markets, coupled with an innate ability to navigate and interpret financial landscapes.
