About Victorian Cancer Biobank Established in 2006, the Victorian Cancer Biobank (VCB) collects cancer tissue, blood and data for cancer research and clinical trials.
The VCB enables Victorians affected by cancer to empower research, supporting over 300 cancer research projects to date.
Now recruiting a Part Time Medical Scientist, Tissue Bank – Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2025 As a Tissue Bank Medical Scientist, you will assist the Tissue Bank Coordinator in procuring, processing, and maintaining an inventory of blood and tissue samples.
You will also help ensure the smooth running of the laboratory, develop quality control documentation, retrieve and prepare specimens for distribution to researchers, and maintain a cancer database.
The successful applicant will be expected to travel to affiliated sites to obtain participant consent and collect surgical specimens.
